Unhappy Anything i can do to a 95 RS motor? swap???

I got a 95 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS for free because my dad bought it from a friend for $700. It has a blown motor in it and my dad is about find the stock RS motor for it. So there for is there any other motor that i can swap in to it? Because the RS is probally SO Slow. Or minus well commit insurance fraud and get a gsx? haha but really what should i do with a free 95 RS?

Re: Anything i can do to a 95 RS motor? swap???

may be what you can do is get a rs engine make the swap and sell the car, it's not going to be that expencive if you do it your self, if not, i remember that yesterday i read something of a guy in canada who was looking for a rs or gs body with no rust (actually he was asking for a esi) you can offer him the body cause the engine is the same I think that he was plannig to spend $1000 to $2000 and putting a dif $ you can get a gs-t or better GSX.
Good luck

Re: Anything i can do to a 95 RS motor? swap???

yes you can, but in my opinion doesn't worth the money and the time, you can put an intake, heathers, nitrous, or even a turbo kit (with a a turbo kit everibody said that you will be allowed to run faster than a stock gs-t)
An other question is manual or auto???

Re: Anything i can do to a 95 RS motor? swap???

Ok Its manual... and its a 2.0 dohc. But the motor dont look like the regular eclipse motor. It looks like a dodge motor or something. All the regular eclipse motor have their gears on the driver side. Well on my RS the gears are on the passenger side. So therefore what can I do? U know what im talkin about right?

Re: Anything i can do to a 95 RS motor? swap???

you are talking that your rs have the transmission on the passenger side???
this is a gs-t or gsx engine the tranny is on the passenger side, in the rs or gs is the oposite

if you are talking about the timing belt in the gs or rs is in the passenger side, on the gs-t or gsx is on the driver side
