97 2wd ranger into 4X4
I need some help
I have a 97 2WD, and I would like to change it to a 4X4 with a 4.10 rear end. I’ve been told that a 94-97 would be a straight swap. But I almost bought a 90 4X4 because the mounts look extremely close. I was wondering if anyone knew if a 90 would fit a 97. Or if you have something you'd want to sell that'd work either Explorer or a Mazda maybe Thank you |

Re: 97 2wd ranger into 4X4
I would think that if you're gonna convert it to a 4x4, go with a solid axle conversion up front. The Twin Traction beams used on Earlier rangers (up to 1997) offer a nice ride, and are fairly rugged, but I dont know how hard it would be to convert. For major offroad use, Solid axles might be the way to go. better articulation.
