Re: Tamiya clear over testors paint.

Not sure it's a good idea to mix Enamel and Lacquer.

Re: Tamiya clear over testors paint.

Risky shot. Never put a lacquer/acrylic over an enamel.

Re: Tamiya clear over testors paint.

I have used Testor clear over tamiya paint. Beside yellowing, no problem.
I also tried tamiya paint over testor clear (long story) I had about 3 hours of sanding work to remove the mess.

over Testers Enamal, no, your paint will look like crap, over Testers/Model Masters new laquer, you will get BEAutiful results, I used Tamiya Clear over Model Masters new laquers and they both worked great together, it's the best pre-polish paint job i've ever done

Re: Tamiya clear over testors paint.

i wouldn't recommmend it. I tried it once and it seemed the paint turned out funky and runny.

Thanks guys for all your responses, I clear with the Ts13 over the testors and it melted and bubbled like there was no tomorrow so we all know now that this is a no no. I removed it and repainted. Lesson learned, boy I tell you do these lessons ever stop.
