Re: AC leaks water in car

It sounds like the drain is clogged. If you go into the engine compartment look behind the engine on the passenger side firewall. Ther is a foil covered piece of insulation covering the firewall. Look fo a u-shaped cutout about where the passenger's feet would be, fold it up and you can see the drain tube. Try to clean it out with a screwdriver and/or compressed air.

I have the same problem. I tried to clean it out, but so far I don't think it worked.

I used a clothes hangar to stick in the horseshoe hole...

I will go try again in a minute.

Ah HA! I found the problem. I just went out and poked around a little.

On mine at least you do NOT need a screwdriver to fix the problem.

Looking from the front of your car, behind the engine there is that foil seal. On mine there were several horseshoe cut outs. The one I needed to find was on the bottom left of the passenger's side (left while looking at the car from the front)

Instead of pushing that little foil flap IN pull it OUT. Underneath it there was a little rubber flap. I had to stick my arm way down in behind the engine to get to it and feel around with my fingers.

If you push the foil in, it will seal off the drain hole even more. I picked mine up with my fingers and probably a liter of water came pouring out.

Cold air in the winter? I wouldn't replug anything with that AC drain. Cold air wont cause a big rush in through a small little hole like that.

Its something else.

Maybe tell a little more of the problem because you are very vauge...
