Re: what do u all think about Zsss

Uhhh.... don't quote me on this: But I believe that the Z31 300ZX (and it's actually '84-'89) doesn't weigh much more than a fully loaded 240SX. I believe the Z31's curb weight is about 3000 lbs. Sure that is not lightest out there... but compare that to Toyata Soarers, Chasers and Nissan Skyline GTS', Cerfio and other fat drift girls. With the VG30E(NA)/VG30ET(Turbo) you are gonna have more than enough power to get this beast sideways. Another advantage of using a Z31 is that some Z31 Fairlady's (300ZX) came with the RB25DET, used in the newer non-GTR Skylines, stock! That means if you import an RB25DET and install it in your Z31... direct bolt-on! This engine is much lighter than the VG and ideal if you are worried about weight. I have drifted my Z32 300ZX (with AT) and have not had a problem trying to get it sideways... a Z31 should not have a problem.

As for aftermarket parts... just search the internet! There are countless distrubutors of Z parts! There are NISMO parts... and I have seen them! But good luck finding them and importing them! $$$ I'll help you out a little with these:

Japanparts.com

And if you are getting into Z's then you better get used to these two guys:

I believe it was an RB20DET.

The RB25DET didn't make it's way into the Skyline GTS-T untill the R32 which was after the Z31 had already left.

Still a potent motor in a Z though... Very rare cars. I'll try to find more information on it later, right now I'm at work and 56k and AOL don't work well with my patience. So I must wait till I get home.. argh.

Re: what do u all think about Zsss

This is a pretty old post to be digging up to be flat wrong, did you even check out the site that redneck posted???
lemme put it here again for ya...
http://www.c-red.com.au/stock/z31/index.shtml
now even if you were ignorant of the fact that is says z31 in the URL, the page says "1987 Nissan (Z31) Fairlady 200ZR (4 seater)". The car has a different name because it has a different engine in it, it is still, in fact, a Z31, so read someones source before you beak em off ok?

Wow, you totally missed the boat on that one didn't you?

The RB20DET is a Inline 6, DOHC Singe turbo engine. You're thinking of the SR20DET (a four banger) commonly found in the 200sx Silvia's in Japan.

And Yes, the 200ZR is a Z31 with a RB20DET.

Re: what do u all think about Zsss

Yuh, doom-mas! You are not much of a "Z31 freak" if you can't get those facts straight!

Also avaible at that time was a VG20DET (200ZG)and VG30DE (300ZR) in the Z31 chassis! Bet you didn't know that either!

What up, Red? Did you get to go to JGTC? There were a tons of Z's out there! Even an SR20DET powered 240Z like your! Awesome! I'm gonna post pix in the PZ Forums so keep a look out!
