help with exhaust
I have a 97 stang that is stock. My exhaust has been sound really loud and deep so I thought I picked up a hole in my muffler but when I looked under the car there were no hole to be found throughout my exhaust. Someone told my that I may have a blown collector gasket. Can anyone tell me where the collector gasket is located under the car and how check to see if it is my collector gasket that is blown. thanks

there's no gasket. it's a balljoint. so you may have a leak there.
the best way to check for exhaust leaks is to jack the car up so you can get under the whole thing, start it, and move your hands near the pipes all the way around, feeling for pulsing air. dont' touch the pipes, they can burn you pretty badly, especially the cats.
