Si problems

Ok my friend has a 91 crx si. It all started when his car shut off out of no where the problem was his timeing wasnt set right and the bolt for the cam gear was loose and the belt had tightened up n was against the head.......ok that was fixed now like the nex day he went through a puddel of watter and his car shut off tested it for spark and there was none so he changed the distributor.....low spark and smoke coming out of the intake. What i think is wrong is that he bent his valves. What do you guys think could be wrong with it?
