Need a used engine help!!
Okay so my engine was making some noise so i had it towed to the dealership and they charged me 530 to diagnos the problem which costs 5300 dollars to fix....
I know i can get a used engine for less than 2g's and get it installed for like 600. So i need some help. I am going to sell my 3k, have to sell it to go to college, after i get it working again. I need to find the cheapest used engine that will work with my 1996 base 3000gt. I believe it has to have the cam and crank sensors. Any help at all would be appreciated... thanks.

I got an engine from this place.. mine was $950... it has about 30K miles on it an runs great.. runs better that my old one ever did

Yeah...NEVER EVER EVER take your car to a dealership!!!...EVER!
I work for one. Trust me, even if it is Mitsu, they overcharge for everything...and 95% of them know nothing about our cars...just because they sell them, doesn't mean they know anything about them...trust me. Find a competant mechanic who works for himself...it may take time, but it is so worth it.

I found a used motor, 35-40 thousand on it, shipped with everything i need, 1750 out the door. I think thats the best deal i will find anywhere. I dont know how someone got one for 950 but i think i have to buy this on for 1750. The dealership is supposed to tell me tommarow how much to install. If that is too much like i know it will be then i am screwed and need to find someone else in richmond va. The problem is my car broke down in richmond and i likve 2 hours away. So it is there and i am here. Kinda sucks.... All the parents are pissed cause i dont have the cash on hand for this crap, just paid 1600 to get the clutch fixed and all the hydrolics replaced. Damn life sucks....

Yeah, avoid going to a dealerships. They'll suck the life outta ya.... I went to a dealership close to where I live and they wouldn't even want to help me. And after what Igovert500 just said, I'm DEFINITELY not going there!!!

They also over charge all parts for these cars.. i bought the 3000GT door skins for my stealth.. and they were both $500 a piece

yea thats what i said.. then come to find out..i seen this 3000GT in a junk yard and they werent even hurt on it
... but heres a question.. does any1 have a problem with there windows being really scratched up??
