Exclamation Knight Rider or Bust

hey guys, me and my brother found a '82 trans am setting in a yard with weeds up around it yesterday. he is a huge knight rider fan, so i stopped to see how much the man would take, to my surprise he said $250, plus he owed 115 in taxes on it. i bought it for him, it tickled him to death. anyway the car has sat for 7-8 months. it needed a battery, i popped the hood and there was a 305 crossfire injected motor. i checked the antifreeze and oil, the oil needs changed bad. i dropped in a hot battery and she started after cranking a few seconds. i paid the man and we transfered the title and paid up the taxes for the man this morning and he drove the car to my house. Now, can anyone tell me where can i find what i need to trick this car out knight rider style???? any help would be greatly appreciated. cause this tired, tlc needing early 80's ta needs restored. thanks.

Check on yahoo or google for knight rider kits. You will find them fast. However, I would recommend (what you probably know) to get the inside of the hood fixed up before you put any kinds of kits on it.
Another idea is if you do buy the kit before you fix your ride, than it will be more motivational for you to finish it. Just a thought.
Good luck.

I only race two ricers at a time, its 'cuz I believe in giving them a fair chance... at finishing last.
Racing is like boxing, if a lightweight challenges a heavyweight, you know that the lightweight will be fast, but in the end the heavyweight will knock the shit out of the lightweight.

Re: Knight Rider or Bust

the motor is out and i sent the heads off to be redone, ported and polished. i have ordered new pistons, and rings for it, the crank is in excellent condition. wonder if i can put a little bit better cam in it to give it a better sound. i have the nose and the scanner light also. im going to start on the paint in the morning, under the hood that is, while im waiting on the heads to come back from the machine shop.

i must say that what your doing for your brother is great. You show your passion for cars but more importantly your passion for family. I applaud that. Good luck with your project, best wished to your brother, and please continue that passion and admiration, this world needs more. Thanks

thanks for the reply, this project has really opened a new door for him, he has learned alot the past 2 weeks, and we have really gotten alot done. the car is starting to look like KITT, its all painted in tuxedo black,
and 2 good coats of clearcoat. the lt1 engine is setting in the car now, im trying to get it wired up. but now we are waiting on the dash, and the instrument panel to come in. its sopposed to talk and say a few frases from the show, has all the buttons for KITT's gadgets and features. But i must say that this car looks excellent now. after the motor is in i have to put in a new steering box and im putting in all new shocks and struts, brakes and rotors. Ill update you guys as soon as the car is running. i have to change the fuel pump as well so its going to take some time.
