help to start bike
hi everyone
sorry for being a lame newbie. but i got a 2000 yzf600r that has been sitting for a year. i need some tips on how i might get it to run. it had been running fine until it was put into storage but now i can't start it. the good: had been running fine and starting fine a year ago starter is functional the bad: choke control is broken battery is drained everytime i try to start it i don't know anything about these bikes. i was hoping someone can give me some suggestions on how to start it again. i hope once it is running on a regular basis, it will start fine like it once did. stupid question: can you use starter fluid to help it run? TIA |

Re: help to start bike
battery is drained every time you start it?? .....
sounds to me like you need a new battery dude is it attempting to kick over? how long has it been sitting there?

Re: help to start bike
of course i recharge the battery when i try to start it
![]() it has enough juice if the bike will just start. it tries to kick over. think the biggest problem is the lack of a choke. sitting for 1 year |

have you changed the fuel. if its the same fuel as a year ago it would have gone off by now. also try to pull the plugs out and clean them up with WD40 or a degreaser cleaner. don't use to much as they are a flammable product and may leave a residue
