Exclamation Need solid advice and help!!!

Hi ladies and gents!! I am new to this board and looking for some solid advice.

My husband is on the road all the time now and wants me to sell his 1970 Chevy Nova. While the car and parts are all there, including a new rear tub out last year, there is no engine or tranny for this car (removed to another car last year). This was essentially a frame-off restoration and the car is a rolling chassis at this point. I have asked several friends about this car and been given the advice of anywhere from $3,000.00-$4,500.00 for a selling price, but I'm dumb as a stump on the value of this particular car and thought I would seek out some expert advice.

I have tried to sell the car locally, but haven't had more than passing interest. My husband suggested that I sell it on Ebay, however, I don't want to waste a $40.00 listing fee to have it not sell.

So, my question is - You have a gray primered rolling chassis 1970 Chevy Nova (no engine, no tranny) with a recent $1,500.00 rear tub out (have receipt), partial body work completion and all parts are available except engine and tranny - what would you ask for it and feel comfortable that you could sell it? I am going to ask for local pickup only or that if they want it shipped, they will have to pay that cost (altho' I will help in any way that I can with those arrangements).

HELP ME!!!!!!!!

Cheryl

Well Ill Try! On how you have described it. I think if it has a good soild frame, no rust, has all interior parts,( like seats, Steering wheel, the doors are still their) and the the apolstery is in good condition. Theirs no engine and tranny. I would estimate it to be a vaule of like $3,000 or less. I mean as long as the frame isnt falling apart or the doors arent coming off or the windows arent shatered. I mean if their is rust and things are coming off. I would sell it for cheaper. If you really want to be sure you can go get it apparised at a dealership. Or definatly ask a dealership. "Where can I get my car apparised". Or possibly you can look it up in Yellow Pages. Of course im a idiot and forgot that you have no engine to even get to a dealership. You can always ask them and see what they say over the phone.

I Hope this somewhat helps
-Good Luck!!

Thank you all so much for your responses!! I have been given alot of great advice and I really appreciate all of the help. I am going to list it on Ebay likely within the next 2 weeks as a Project Car (the most common advice I got) and start it at $3,000.00 and see where it goes from there.

Again, you all are awesome and I can't thank you enough. Now, while I have your attention, I am in an "email fist fight" with a guy who is insisting that the following is a picture of a 350 turbo. My husband took this out of his 76 K5 Blazer, and, while it may not have been original to the truck, is insistent that it is a 400 turbo with the transfer case. I am beside myself because I basically had the item sold when this guy came along and insisted that I wasn't selling a 400. Opinions???
