B16 tranny in LS

Does any one have a B16 tranny in their LS integra? The b16 tranny has shorter gear ratios which will help out alot down the 1320. i just wanna know the difference it will make (how much time will it shave off? more or less than 0.5 sec's ?)

also, if anyone has a b16 tranny in there car, how is highway driving compared to the LS tranny. i would expect the b16 tranny to be up in the rpms when cruising down the highway. in my LS, in 5th gear, my car cruises at around 3-3.5K at 75 mph. im expecting the b16 to be around 4-4.5K rpms?

thanks again

Re: B16 tranny in LS

i just bought a integra ls 2001 and tryin to convert it to ls/vtech with a b18c5 head, b18c1, or a b16a head. Any expertee will share some info? whats the best way i can modified my whip and being the meanest nympho roaming the steet. Another question, my transmission is an automatic, but i want to convert it to a manual shift. should i get an ls tranny or an lsd tranny?

1st ur trying to build an LS/VTEC motor not a LS/VTECH

The best head is the b16 head. it flows like the type R head and is more affordable.
If your gonna swap the tranny, then u should do what im probably gonna do, get a b16 tranny. it will most likely lower ur 1/4 ET's

but before u do any sort of work on ur car, i would advise u to read up more on things. gain knowledge 1st, then build your car.

i wonder how much it would cost me to swap the 5th gear from an LS into the b16 tranny. My boy owns a shop and he has tranny's all over the place in his shop. i bet i can get one for cheap. How hard would it be to do the 5th gear swap. i'll probably do it myself, but i have no clue how too. i better start reading!

I am pretty sure that will work, I would let your buddy do the work though. Trannies are a pain enough and if you have never messed with one then you are likely in for a pain in the ass. Your buddy could probably do it much easier.

it seems like silver bullet LS dont know jack shit bout cars. U say u wanna change ur LS head to either a B16a, B18C5 or a B18B1???? u already have a B18B1 in ur car bro. maybe u mean a B18C1. well a LS/vtec conversion will run u $700 for labor plus some more for parts and shit. tranny will run u maybe 300-500 bucks for labor. and a LSD alone is gonna cost u alot. start a new thread and u'll get some staright answers. STOP STEAL N MY THREAD.
