Hmm..A silly computer question.
Ok, I've been meaning to get this Chip I bought installed into the Computer.
It's an ADS Superchip for a 95' Manual Tranny. My question is this: I got the side panel opened up today, and I noticed the computer is an Aluminum box that has a PCM Chip connected to the bottom, and then a whole mess of wires connected to the other side. So do I take out that stock chip and put the ADS chip inside? or do I install the ADS Chip on top of the Stock chip?? Sorry for the dumb question guys. BTW, I got the Oils changed today, man the Oil in the Differential was sickeningly disgusting

The stock mustang computer on a 94-95 GT does not have a chip. There is a wire harness that plugs directly into the stock computer. The chip you describe more than likely is an after market chip the previous owner must have installed. It would be a good idea to remove it before you add your own.

Yeah I just bought a Jet chip for my truck. It installs the same way. You plug the wire harness into one side of the chip (module) and the other side plugs into the stock computer. The idea behind it is that it interpets the signals comming from the computer and it modifies the Air fuel curve to improve performance.
I had an ADS chip in my stang at one point. Plugs into the access port on the computer, oppossite side of harness. I ended up getting rid of it, the chip worked fine while the car was near stock form, but as the mods increased the chip actually started holding the the car back. One day I took it out for some reason, got back in the car to drive it. It wasn't the same car.

Underdrive pulleys and AC eliminator are mods that don't have anything to do with the chip. These mods will help you. What I was refering to was mods that have to do with the air and fuel curve.
There are two types of chips, off the shelf and custom burned chips. Both are going to make changes to your timming and fuel to increase performance. The off the shelf chip has just taken your stock settings and improved them which is fine for a basically stock vehicle. Now a custom burned chip is when you have a modified vehicle (larger injectors larger calibrated mass air meter, fuel pressure regulator, aftermarket intake plenum etc). These types of mods are going to make an off the shelf chip useless becaure the stock parameters just went out the window. This is where the custom chip comes into play. The problem you now have is if you decide to change something like larger injectors or adding a supercharger the chip will have to be reburned for whatever you've changed. My chip was'nt set up for 24lb injectors nor was it set up for the new intake plenum so my performace suffered. I could have had the chip reburned but I decided to change the computer once I found out about the timming issue.

Thats not a bad deal, thats about what I paid for mine. Its also very similar to the set I have. I think you should get them, pulleys are a great mod you will feel the difference after you put'em on.
