can't turn key off - 94 bonnie
Help,
I've got a 94 Bonnie, that I can't turn off. The key will no turn past the on position. I had to disconnect the battery to turn it off. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I can usually fix anything, but don't know where to start here. I have pulled sterring wheels in the past. Any idea on what it would cost to have fixed at my local garage. Thanks for any help. This sounds like it could be an easy fix... Make sure that you have a shifter all the way in park... Is the steering wheel locked? If it is then just try to move the steering wheel back and fourth... Those are the only two ways I can think of to fix it... If they don't work and you'll have to take it somewhere. I don't know what it would cost, but just hope that they don't have to disassemble the steering colum or it will be expensive.

No the steering wheel is not locked. It is still in the on positon. And it doesn't seem to mater what gear it is in. I don't think it had to be in part to turn the key off.
