1987 F150 Fuel Problem
When you start up the truck, it runs good for about three minutes. Then seems to run out of gas. I have replaced the fuel pump on the frame. Seemed to help some, but still dies. Have spark and fuel pressure. Any help?

Re: 1987 F150 Fuel Problem
i own an 87 toyota pickup, maybe just a shot in the dark, but have you tested your pump relay, that may be what's causing it, just thought i'd put in my two cents. good luck Jay

Re: Re: 1987 F150 Fuel Problem
Check voltage with engine not running, on battery post. Then check with engine running on battery post. Should run about 2 volts higher with engine running, about 13-15.5 volts. Check the alternator.

Ran about 3 minutes and died.It was the pump in the tank. What a pain. But be sure and check those filters first.Much cheaper and easier than tank removal. Hope this helps! Roddey |
