GS-T Vs. Saleen S281

A buddy of mine down the street has a shop and his most recent acquireings brought him a 97 Mustang Saleen S281. He got done fixing and you know you just got to take a test drive. I was over there and i had my 97 Eclipse GS-T. All I have in my car(at the current moment) powertrain wise is a hi flow intake, spark plug wires, and an exhaust system Otherwise everything else is stock. As far as I know the mustang was stock. We raced but it was out in the middle of nowhere so we had no common staring time. We went twice and both times he got to the take off first. I not only kept up with him but passed him at higher speeds.

No, its closer to about 90-100 that I took over and after that he had no chance. His gearing was what ever it is from the factory.

can that happen? After a 100 all that Slowbra displacement should kick in... i wouldnt think the turbo would have much of a chance at higher speeds...no?

I went over to the mustang forum and they said that there was two engine options for the 281. There was a SOHC at 220hp. being as I have 210 stock and the parts I have in it I would be able to take that one no problem because I am evan lighter. Now there was also a DOHC version that put out 310hp. I will try to find out which one it was. Either way it was deffinetly fun. Lets see what happens when he gets his other S281 with a 580hp super charged V8. HAHA
