Blue wire / Rear Speakers / New head unit / H3LP!
Here is my situation:
- Have a '00 Tahoe Limited w/ factory six speaker setup. - Pulled factory unit (w/ slave CD) to install Pioneer DEH-P4500MP head unit. - Front door & rear *overhead* speakers work fine. - Rear *door* speakers are dead. ## I've read the "blue factory antennae wire" fix, but there is NO blue wire hanging around the stereo box of the dash. I looked all over the inside of the dash and there are NO extra wires there. ## - Used GM color code chart to ID front and "rear" (don't know which "rear" - doors or overhead) speaker wire in Tahoe's harness. - Only four speakers on GM color code chart, so this didn't really help at all. - There are two wires on the Tahoe-side harness that do not match up to the head unit's harness -- dark green/black & dark green. IOW, these wires are on the Tahoe-side harness, but there are no wires connecting on the aftermarket harness used to connect the Pioneer head. - There is ONE blue wire on the factory harness, but it connects to a corresponding wire/plug on the aftermarket harness. There is ONE extra blue wire on the aftermarket harness. I believe I am supposed to connect the extra wire on the aftermarket harness to something, but don't know what. I've read the other threads here and on other forums, but none of them make since to me. I'm a computer whiz, but a complete novice at car audio stuff. So, please be specific when you answer. THANKS! PS - I can send pics of the wiring harnesses, etc. IF someone would take a few extra minutes to help. I'll repay ANYONE who helps with free advice on computer problems!!
