Last summer I experienced some really loud knocking under the hood and my car developed a horrible death rattle. I took it to several mechanics and the diagnosis was that the supercharger needed to be replaced. I shopped for a used one and had it put in my car, but the rattle did not go away. Turns out it was the crankshaft dampner pulley that needed to be replaced. Got that fixed, and no more rattle.
So, I have the original supercharger in my garage if anyone is looking for one. My car is an 1995 Olds 88 with about 160k miles on it. I know the supercharger works fine because that wasn't the problem, and I can't return the one I bought because I got it used (that's the one in my car now). Anyway...let me know. It does me no good here. |
