Non starting 240

My daughters 87 240 has been acting up. every two to three days we have to jump start the car, the starter will drag but as soon as you connect a jump batterie it turns fast as sh!t. we changed the batterie a couple of times and still no change. anyone have any suggestions?

It might be the alternator because it sounds like the battery is slowly dying.

That happend to me. What I did was i replaced the alternator, voltage regulator, and the battery. Did the trick!

Hey...
Make sure the battery posts are clean and tight, check the 25 amp fuse near the power steering resvoir to make sure it's nor coroded - it controls the fuel pumps so while your cleaning the battery terminals its a good time to clean.

Good advice about the alt/batt connections. Swing by a good parts store and have them check it out for you...They should; check voltage from the alternator, check the battery under load with a tester. You should; clean the battery connections, insure the battery acid level is ok, and call first to insure the parts place have(and will) do the testing for you when you arrive. Good luck
