Drop Top Problems

Hey whats up guys I need to know how to fix the bent arms in my convertible top. The same arm on each side of the car is bent. Its about 8 to 10 inches long. I know its a common problem with the drop top eclipses. Anyone know a fix for it? Or where I can buy new arms at? And how much should It cost to correct this problem.....Thanks for the help guys.

Re: Drop Top Problems

I had/have the same problem... I just reach back and hold the one side back ... as for it being bent... "a guy goes to the mek a nik and say doc it bends when I do this... the mek a nic says well then don't do that" lol When I first got my car I forgot that prev. owner told me about it.... so it bent... I just bent it back... I've thought about getting some thin elastic to put bar where it needs to be but to damn lazy to look into it... Just reach back and don't get your fingers pinched!!!! lol

I'll answer for vince if that's ok with him lol... He just turned the motor off.... behind tail light is the switch...I believe its the driver side... that's what he told me... i'm just to lazy to do that myself... pushing button easier!!! lol

Re: Drop Top Problems

i like using the motor too, but sometimes is as if the motors wokring oo hard or something and might just break, and id have more piece of mind doing it manually...i tried puching it open without disconnecting the motor, it was crazy hard the thing wouldnt budge, go figure, lol. is it any easier with the motor disconnected?
