Accessing Error Codes- 99 Ram 150
99 Ram 150- 360cid, automatic.
I've read several threads regarding accessing error codes. I've tried switching the ignition switch 3x, and checking the check engine light for flashes- nada. I tried it 5x- same result. I've tried holding down the reset for the trip odo while turning the ignition swith on, and it appears to run a diagnostic on the instrument lights only; it says "pass" after about five seconds. Does anyone know how to access error codes on this year pickup specifically. I cannot find specific directions anywhere on the web. Thanks |

Yeah, I did that and the check engine light stayed on continuously (no flashing). I tried it 5 times as well, same thing.

Then there are no codes to be read. The check engine light normally stays on if the key is on but the motor isn't running, like if you just turn the key on and not hit the starter.
Does the check engine light stay on after you start the truck up? It shouldn't...

Stays on. I've tried everything I can think of. Know where I can get the best deal on an error code meter-guage/ reader thingy??
