Flooding

Passat owners, beware of heavy rains. There is a drain that channels rainwater out of the sunroof area that, when clogged, drains into the cabin through the cabin air filter housing. In my case, the dashboard electronics, transmission control, and airbag sensors were swamped and have to be replaced. The dealer tells me that, because this was an "external event", it is outside the warranty. The total cost is $3000, and I am not a happy camper.
