96 Accord V6. Check Engine Light turn on and the ODB2 code is P0306
Hi all professionals here,
Recently, I have a problem with my Honda Accord 96. The Check Engine Light turn on (steady without any blinking), then I brought it to Autozone for code reading and the result from that reader is P0306 : Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected. (I had talked to Honda Dealer Service Dept. and they told me to add "Chevron fuel injector cleaner" then fill a full gas tank with the Premium Grade and it should be ok, However, this solution doesn't help me at all) Previously, I have had a problem with tachometer bouncing then I took it to the mechanics for several times but everytime it reached to the mechanic shop the problem stopped!!! and none of them able to find out a clue for me. However, for a month ago this problem never shown up again (I didn't fix anything at all). Is it possible that it will be related to the current problem? Would you please advice me for any solutions. Thank you. Mileage : 150K (I just bought this car for months) |

first thing you need to replace spark plug in sixth cylinder with spark plug that you know is good. you swap spark plugs between cylinders.
if problem still there you should look at condition of spark plug wires and distrubitor cap.

check this link, it sounds like it could be your coil about $70 for the coil at the dealer and you can change it yourself.

To Honda 99 and jgr7
Thank you for your reply and advice. I'm going to try to fix them by this week. (I just came back from my vacation since the day after I posted my message) Hopefully, that would fixed my problem right away. I will posting the result later on. Thanks
