I got lost here...

It looks like they really increased the flow, or so they say. Though it looks like the engine just comes port and polished from the factory.

except for the fact that, no. the LS2 is a 24-valve design, the LS1 and all previous small blocks were 16-valve designs. the displacement has been increased and from reading the article and seeing the pictures i learned that chevy put so much more thought into this engine. the engineering is amazing and i cant wait for the LS7...
