headers

aright so im looking to buy some new headers. when i bought my car the owner said he had installed dc ceramics already but ive looked and i cant see any sign that they are. im just wondering if u guys think brand matters when it comes to buying headers. also, how much better is the 4-1 design in comparison to the 4-2-1?

Re: headers

well usually i would suggest getting a dc sports, but like other people have said, and from personal experience, the aftermarket header piping is no wider than the stock header piping, so you might want to spend your 300$ on something else for the car

Re: headers

you should really learn some more about cars, i mean if you cant tell that the car didnt have an aftermarket header when you bought it, then you should really read a little more about cars before you spend your money on them

Re: headers

hah. no. i said i knew the car had an aftermarket header but i wasnt sure and couldnt really tell if it was a dc sports header. the owner said it was but i didnt care to investigate as i was planning to change them anyways. they look generic alltogether but im sure theyre not stock. and why mention that aftermarket header pipings r no wider than stock? are ya inferring that headers don't make a difference in performance???? geez....i always thought they did. i mean i KNOW they do.

actually, the DC sports headers r a waste of money for the preludes. they really are very similar to the exhuast manifold for the h22a. the 4-1 design is better, sacrifices some low end power for high end. apparently well worth it. ive heard good things bout SMSP and of course Mugen is always a good choice. dc sports r a rip off for preludes so dont get all pissy. so unless ur goin to stay N/A and havnet thougth bout going FI then it would be a watse to drop 900 on a great set of headers if u wont be able to use them in a year. so unless ur stayin N/A just stay with what you have. if you r stayin N/A u shud drop money on quality parts because they will make a differnce in teh end. id go for Mugen. i would if i had money. lol .

for a prelude they are a fuckin rip off, they net u almost wat 5whp and if lucky that much torque. r u kiddin me, compare ur DC's to your stock manifold. extremely similar. i have dc headers, i felt a bigger difference from my high flow cat. and they are a rip off when u can get a cheap 4-2-1 header off ebay for less and net the same amount of gains. the only headers u will notice a signifigant differnce is with the mugen, and from what i hear the smsp. this of course is not true for civics and accords. DC makes an excellent header for the civic SI but not for preludes. im sorry that u are bitter u spent 300 plus on a shitty upgrade. yea i have them but i got them for 100$ off someone at Tempest. dont be bitter

yea i have them but i got them for 100$ off someone at Tempest. dont be bitter as shown i have them as well, bother reading the post? or jus speaking before thinking? I did not even notice a gain at all when the headers were replaced. You wouldnt know would you though because as you said you bought the car with them already on it.

there is proof actually, ive got dynos to show it. just ask and u shall receive im not sure how to post them so ill send them to u thru email if u like. one is a jdm h22a in a civic with AEM CAI, DC header, 5 Zigen exhaust and the other is an 01 lude with VAFC untuned, with the 01 puttin down 4 more whp than the jdm. however i will say that the jdm is makin 3 more tq. if u truly are goin to stay N/A get a great header because it is a key piece.
seriously read what i say before sayin something stupid bout brand names when i have the exact same headers.
