Firebird and Turbo help?
Alright I have been looking at some upgrades for my 99 firebird. Problem is after hours of looking I havent been able to find a Turbo Charger for the 3.8.
Does anyone know where I can find one or am I going to have to buy a bunch of different pieces and put it all together? Also I just got interested in all this car stuff since I bought my bird a few weeks ago so i was wondering is it possible to have a Turbo Charger and Nos system on the same engine? thanks for any help

Re: Firebird and Turbo help?
I was the same way and still am, with fixing and making the bird go fast. However my ambition was toned down because of its insidiousnes.
First, you can find complete turbo kits for your engine at e-bay, if not search on Yahoo. If that does not help, try typing in "turbochargers" or "superchargers" it will give you list of stores and you can search from there. Its very hard on your car to have a turbo on, and its even harder to have NOS. Its very possible to put them together, but you will blow your engine in matter of seconds. I would recomend a turbocharger just because its a lot more sofisticated ( I think) than NOS. One thing you need to worry about is re-building the engine, cuz if you want the kind of power i think you want, than you will need to make that beast strong. If you want to remain stock, than just go for upgrades that use your car to its fullest and not a single bit more. Good luck.

Re: Firebird and Turbo help?
Personally I would not get a turbo set up on a 6 cylinder. But thats me. For starters you can get a good intake and exhaust system. Maybe Gears and a stall. Then you can always do a lil porting on the intake manifold get bigger injectors, upgrade the ignition system. Should be pretty quick after this. And if your still not happy get 100 shot of nitrous for the beast and get it dyno tuned for max hp.
