Downpipe

Okay, i did a search, and didn't find anything. Can anybody tell me where to find a aftermarket downpipe for a non-turbo. I found the headers, and cat back, but i just need the downpipe, mine is leaking (badly), so it is the only part that really does need to be changed.

Re: Downpipe

I think (not really sure) that there are some headers that are long enough to bolt up to the cat. I remember looking at something like that for my old RS, too.

i know pacesetter makes headers, and a company called archer racing(i thought he made viper parts?), i have a talon esi, which would be a eclipse GS, the non-turbo 2.0. I have pretty much decided on the pacestter cat back, just because i don't want to give my car to a muffler shop for a day to have a new exhaust made up. I really only want 2.5 inch, 3 seems a little to big(enough room?) I need the part with the flex pipe, thats the part that is leaking. Thanks for the help

Re: Downpipe

3" is WAY too big for a non-turbo eclipse. That is, unless you plan on turboing it =P. 2.5" is alright, I guess. However, I've yet to read a good review about the pacesetter exhaust parts, so I don't think I'd go with them. It's your choice though, good luck!

yeah i know, i've read very few good reviews about pacesetter, but i want to do a full exhaust, not just a muffler, i want to do it right, not rice, if you get what i mean. I knew 3 inch was to big. Quick question, if i get a CAI for my car, would i have to deal with the MAS, even though its a non-turbo, i know you have to move it away for the BOV if its a turbo, but what about for me?? Thanks for the help man, i gotta find a different set of headers now too. (BTW, i'm gettin gthe new injen intake that just came out.)

if i could get a greddy exhaust for my car, i would in a flash, but thry don't make one! I wish they would, they would make a lot of people happy. I found out a Archer racing header is 480 bucks, so they pacesetter on is looking much more appealing right now. I'm a student, so that kind of expense is out of my range. Thanks for the help, but still, does anyone know where i can get a 2.5 inch downpipe?? Or does anyother cars downpipe fit? like a 2g?

Re: Downpipe

Greddy DOES make a catback for th 2g non-turbos! They also make a nice (but expensive) header, too.

EDIT >>> Nevermind that, I just saw that you have a 1g, sorry.

I got my cat back off ebay, They should have them for 1g also. 2.5 inch, manderal bent, full stainless steal. For only $250 with s&h. It sounds great and it bolted up very nicely. It dont really have a brand name but its sold over ebay.

yes you have to deal with the MAS... it goes filter, MAS, intake to motor! your car stock has a MAS so no matter what upgrades you do to it you will need some sort of mass air sensor!

thanks midnight, i'll start looking again at ebay, i checked there for intakes and headers, but not cat-backs. Eclipse-rst, is there a vfaq or sticky on how to re-work the MAS on the 1g n/t. Yeah, the aftermarket for the 1g n/t is not that big, i don't know why, but it's a pain finding 50 headers for a turbo, and maybe 1 for a non-turbo.

Archer Racing was one of the first out there many years ago modding and racing DSM's.
