Does anybody know of a site where I can find the metal piece that sits in the tranny to detect the speed? I still have the electronic part but am missing the thing that drops in with the gear on it. I have an 84 GT, manual.

Try a transmission shop or junk yard.

You might also try your local Pontiac dealer. They have surprised me recently, with how far back some of the parts they keep on hand go.
Sometimes, the answers just aren't on a website... |

A Pontiac Dealer will have it or can get it in 2-3 days. Kick Hill Fiero Farms will be able to supply a used part. You'll need to know the transaxle option code from the options sheet found on the driver's side front inner fender.
