One dealer said they had to look the number up on a special v.w computer(yea right)Another said i would have to bring the car it came out of; 50 bucks.I told them i won the radio on e-bay the said o.k 45 bucks. The last dealer i called asked the serial# and vin# and gave me the code in less than 5 min free. What give's? Thanks for hearing me out. MIKE

Re: Radio code

You should be getting the code for free. When I had to do it with my original they said that it wasn't in the computer. I called VW and sure enough some of the B4's weren't in the system, so if you loose it you are in a bind.
So I did what you did and bought one off of Ebay. I got the VIN and the radio code, and went right into the dealer and they gave it to me no hasses or payments.
