Good Turbo

Hi, I have a 1996 3000gt Vr-4. I want to really get alot more power out of it, while still staying street legal. Does anyone know a good turbo that has a fast spool and will give me POWER and where I can get it from, or get info on it? thanks

good streetable turbos are 13G's, they sell on 3si all the time, or you can buy dr500's, very good streetable turbos

13g spool time is great, not much more laggy than the stock turbos. The 13G's will hold 17 psi to redline, and can usually run them at 21 psi. They can get you about 350 AWHP and more with the proper mods. The are definitely good for mid 12 second passes down the track.

Like i said though, for fast spool and nice top end, the DR500's from dynamic racing seem like the turbos to get. Also, the WRX 13T's, in which i'm in process of, are quick spooling turbos with nice top end as well. It can be a cheaper upgrade, but you have buy two WRX turbos and have them fabricated to bolt on, including using the turbine housings and wastegate actuators off of your stock turbos.

I was checking out the DR-500, it seems like a great turbo system. what kind of hp will I get from it, and is it possible to buy 2 to make a TT?

the dr500's come as a twin turbo set, all the upgrades do, they dont make single turbo upgrades for our cars because single turbos are less effecient on our cars. As for power, there have been dyno's that got 385 AWHP @ 16 psi from the dr500s
