Unhappy passenger side door lock not working

Hello, I having a problem with the door lock on the passenger's side on a 91 ford explorer eddie bauer. The power window works fine on that door. All other power locks work fine on the truck except for this one. It is very frustrating having to manually lock/unlock this door. As you might have noticed, I am an automotive newbie, so please explain how I could fix this problem in detail (by either removing the side panel to access the internal wiring, or whatever). Thanks for the help in advance!!

Re: passenger side door lock not working

the lock actuator is probably shorted. they are riveted.
you'll need to remove the panel. check behind the red reflector, one phillips screw. you'll have to ck. closely for the others. if the panel doesn't come off easily keep looking. use a punch for the rivet; knock out the center, then gently pry in the center. left then right then up and down. you'll need a new rivet and a big rivet gun. good luck.
