2000 Sr5

New to the board so hope this is ok to ask.
Looking at a 2000 SR5 with 39000 + miles, V6, Leather, power all except seats, no moonroof, mostly standard I think.
Very clean and seems to drive like new.
I live on the West Coast of Florida. Is $18K a good price, overprice or in line? My wife thinks it's too much, but she thinks everything in the US is overpriced. (She's Canadian)
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Re: 2000 Sr5

I bought a 2000 SR5 loaded (no leather) with 35k for $21k last year spring. It was immaculate - not even a scratch. For what it's worth.

Thanks

for the quick response.
Bought it last night. Out the door was $19,200. Not sure if the extended warranty options are worth it so we passed on them. We were told we could add one of the options within 30 days.
No big deal but does anyone know the ins and outs of the extended warranty or is there a thread I missed when I did a search?
Thanks again.

Re: 2000 Sr5

Extended warranties are only appropriate if you are pessimistic about the reliability of expensive components in your vehicle. If you had the vehicle checked or you have reason to trust the seller, you know that there is nothing currently wrong with it. The reliability of that year 4Runner is outstanding, thus there is no reason to worry. Shit happens, but the odds are in your favor and there is no need to buck the odds.

If you feel the need for a warranty, put some money monthly in a CD or treasury bonds and get interest from it. If you need an expensive repair, you have some or all the money and it is gaining interest for you in the process of saving it, not someone else.

Wow ...

The responses here are quick and informative.
Yes the LOML said she didn't like the pressure of the warranty, that was the only thing they tried to work us on but we told them we wanted to think about it.
The vehicle is immaculate except I just noticed the the CD player skips just going over a stinkin' white line reflector so I will need to address that.
Oh and YCL, I don't think it's so much the candian to us dollars, it's just that she is cheap, err frugile ;-)
Thanks all.

Re: 2000 Sr5

You know why the Nissan and Toyota salemen push extended warranties so hard???It is kind of like selling a mermaid shoes....or selling dancing lessons to a man with no legs or arms(yeah just think about it a bit..you'll catch it lol)
