Ignition lock cylinder

i was wondering if i could put a uncoded Ignition lock cylinder in my car if it has a coded one already its a 97

Not sure if I understand exactly what you are asking here. Theoretically, yes you could. However, you or a locksmith will have to assemble the lock first. I guess my question would be why. Hope this helps.

Do you mean you want to bypass the VATS system? (chip in the key)..


I've seen discussion of it on other forums, that chip is just a resistor so I would think you should be able to hardwire something in..

Why do you want to bypass it though?
