Has anybody seen this done? Or have any ideas of how one would accomplish this? I have some ideas, the cheaper and mabye easier way is to cut the piller where the t-tops mount onto then attacth the t-tops to it permanantly and roll the lips where the piller was and put new seals on there...i dont know if you understand that but thats just one idea.
the other is to buy a old gutted out POS camaro with a nice roof and cut part of it off then do some seal work on it and where the pillar used to be for the t-tops... and ideas or thoughts on this? i thought it would be nice to be differant..

i think your best bet would be to cut the pillar out and connect the tops into one unit. Keep in mind that the point of the t-bar was that the car wasn't stiff enough to support a targa top, so you should weld in some subframe connectors and stranghten other weak pionts on the chassis and possibly even install a roll cage before cutting.

Agree with 327Belair, if you're gonna cut that T in the center of the car, you'd better get some SFC's to strengthen the car, because that's a major structural piece of the car. Otherwise, don't expect it to perform well after that mod.

If anybody wants his email address drop me a PM and I'll hook you up. His handle is Whistler, he's a prominent member over on http://www.camaroz28.com. The targa top that fabbed up himself is made completely of carbon fiber. He also molded his own body kit, and he also just finished up a rear panel that allows for a Corvette C5 taillight conversion. He is having them produced now and will be selling them for $125 hopefully by the end of summer(I'm getting one!!!). He's a GENIUS when it comes to cars, and body work.

Re: T-top converstion to Targa top??
I would compare the underside of a camaro to the underside of a corvette and see if they are doing anything specific
