I have a 97' STOCK alarm system, I was wondering where the glass breakage sensor unit is located, I checked by the LED status light and its not there, anyone else know where?

Re: Where are the glass breakage and main unit sensors for the alrm
I still think it's under the dash attched to the firewall or steering column. This generally where they put it.The unit will have an LED on it. I didn't think I told you to look by the LED Status indicator. You might want to take it to Circuit city or Good guys or ?? Maybe they can help you find it.
Sorry if I confused you. |

Re: Where are the glass breakage and main unit sensors for the alrm
Well the manual said that it is somewhere on the car, I checked all over under the dash and didn't see anything, and another thing, my chirper doesn't chirp anymore when I lock, unlock the doors, I followed the directions to turn it back on, but it still doesn't work.

response to glass breakage sensor
I believe it is under the drivers seat. 4 Bolts to take the seat out and you will have plenty of room.
By the way I am parting out a 97 4runner Lmtd. Roof damage and side panels But everything else is perfect. 120,000 miles when wrecked. |

Re: Where are the glass breakage and main unit sensors for the alrm
Still having trouble locating it. the sensitivity on my alarm is really bad, I can yell and scream into the mic and the alarm still doesn't go off. I still have not found the glass breakage sensor, and I've looked nearly everywhere. Anybody have anymore ideas?

I believe the glass breakage sensor is located right above or below the LED, I have not been able to trigger my alarm by tapping my keys against a window, also my chirper works on and off. Im not sure if there is a way to adjust the sensitivity, if there is let me know, id like to adjust it.
