Question '87 cutlass smells like antifreeze all the time...

My 1987 Cutlass Supreme is in pretty good shape - it runs well, gets decent gas mileage, ect... The problem is that the inside of my car always has a faint smell of antifreeze, and I have no idea what it's from. I've cleaned the inside, used air fresheners, but my final thought is that the smell is coming in through the air vents, even when the a/c is off. Does anyone know of any specific places in the ventilation system (or other parts) that I should be checking for antifreeze leaks, or anything that may be causing this odor? Thanks, Mike.

Check the heater core. You probably have a small leak that isn't showing up inside the car. Most cars today have a tube that diverts water from the heater core outside the passenger compartment so you probably will never see the antifreeze inside the car. This is the only way antifreeze can get into the passenger compartment unless it is spraying all over the place.
