My father in law has a 1994 Olds Eighty Eight that runs perfect during the winter months (in the southwest). In the hot southwest summers the vehicle stalls, especially during the hottest part of the day. Once he pulls over the car starts right up and he can drive it for another 10 to 15 minutes before it stalls again. Any ideas or suggestions?

If the fuel filter has not been changed in a very long time (or never) the pressure at the injectors may not offset the higher vapor pressure caused by the engine heat and higher outside temps.
This is the kind of job to have a pro do. It shouldn't be very expensive. Its dangerous if you aren't very careful - fuel will spray out under pressure as the filter connections are loosened. |

It turned out that the fuel pump was the culprit. On several occasions we had the car tested and all was ok. We were finally able to get a correct reading and as it turns out it was the fuel pump. The fuel pump has been repalced and not one hicup yet. We will keep out fingers crossed.
