Im a newbie to this forum and to the car world and i just bought a 1984 el camino which has been made into an SS. Well the day after i got i went over to my friends house and when i went to start ur up....nothing. My dad said the start was gettin too hot because of the headers. My question, is there anyway to keep the starter from gettin so hot it wont engage? Being stranded sux

Re: starter too hot
Heat sheilds can be purchased in the high performance section of most auto part stores. It mounts up to the starter to engine bolts, also protects the wires. You can also wrap your headers with heat sync material.
