i beleve that the b&m shifter comes with bushings that go in place of the stock piece but u could always drill it out so the stock piece would fit

Re: short shifter probmlem need help

hey i could be worng, but the stock honda shifters ive seen are black. hmm that shaft thingie, = the hole where the bolt goes in and someone suggested a hammer. I didnt have to go through that. your missing 2 pieces that almost look like o-rings but sit in between the shifter and the holder then on the out side of the holder should be washers on each side before the bolts. I'll draw up a pic to explain because i dont have pics, or wait until tommorow morning, i have to pull my short shifter out, then i could PC cam up a couple of pics!

Re: short shifter probmlem need help

Why would you buy a shortshifter without the bearings included? Note: the bearings on my APC shifter (don't flame it f@cking works great) look like skateboard bearings... but the stock bearings in the honda shifter are totally different... well, they were totally wasted in my unit. Plus, I had to take it out twice cuz I didn't replace the bushings the first time... ugh, what a pain in the ass. Remember to replace the bushings. I paid $30 from dealership for top dust seal, plastic ball sleeve and bottom mount bushing... GL

Re: short shifter probmlem need help

hey, sorry for the late reply and i didnt get around to pulling that shifter out, but as soon as i do. i'll post pics on it. in the mean time here's a detail pic of something i hope would help you out.

here is the diagram:

i cant remember what came with my short shifter, i do remember bearings though but i didnt have to inseart any bushings. i did have to pull out my ball seat, but i packed that cylinder with grease = since i had to puul out the seat, i didnt want raw metal on metal without lube.
