Post Power Acoustik system wiring

Hello everyone, I’m new to this site, but read many of your posts. My friends think imp the car audio genius, but to all of you, im a noob. I recently purchased:
2 12" Power Acoustik Fubr's DVC 2 ohm
1 Gage rockford wiring with 300 amp fuse
1 farad rockford capacitor
Power acoustik A3000DB Digital Mono Amp w/ remote
Pioneer DEH-P7600MP Head Unit

This stuff came from bestbuy. Yea, rip-off and cheap stuff, for the most part. But when you get it from a friend for 700$, it was a must. Power Acoustik stuff doesn’t have a good rep, the subs don’t have good SQ but they do get loud, and the amp is great to my knowledge. My problem is this:
I'm 15 and ill be driving here in 2 weeks, and ive got a 94 probe. It has had a couple systems in it before such as MTX Blue thunders, and JVC warren g's. The wires are already run, but of course, ill need to install the smaller gauge wiring. Out of curiosity, I hooked up my amp/subs to the old wiring, and the new head unit to the horrible spliced and "ghetto-rigged" wires. The deck would turn on, along with the amp. The subs would play fine, nice and loud. But I have absolutely no sound out of the speakers. Not even a fuzz. It's powered fine, and grounded. I tried all of the speaker wires to every possible combo and still, nothing. They worked fine with the deck before. Could it be a fuse? But the subs play, and the speaker’s dont? I think I should just have it professionally installed... ive tried many times but still no sound. Help me out, that'd be great, thanks!

no telling what previous installers did ... I always run my own wires, including speaker wires. Not using factory wiring, or someone else's can save you trouble in the long run.

I meant smaller number gauge, not smaller wires...sorry. Because i have 1 gauge wires. Yea, i wanted to just run all my own wires to the speakers, but i have no clue how to get to them and run the wires good, i think it would be to much work? I just think its weird that the speakers dont work, and the subs do.

I think the power/ground wires run now are 8 gauge? But i would think it'd be better for me to run 1 gauge wires using that much power.

ok...so what do you think i should do? Run my own wires to the speakers? Is their any tips on how to do it? Or just tear the dash/door/side panels off? I really would like to do this so i know whats going on with all the wiring. Or do you think i should just take it to bestbuy( sigh ) and have them install everything?

Re: Power Acoustik system wiring

first off, don't tear everything off. do it all yourself. read a bunch of the posts here. i have been wanting to install my subz and speakers for about a month but have to finalize some fine details. you just gotta know where to look on here. do some research.
