90 Olds VS. 97ish MB

so im in a rush to a delivery in my Dental liscence plated 90 Olds Cutlass Supreme, when a kid driving a 97ish MB C240 Kompressor Rolls next to me, it was going from two lanes to one and i wanted to be in fornt but so did he. So we both gun it off the line, surprisingly enough my olds was olding its own neck and neck with the benz, i started edging when the old girl bucked into third slapping the rich kids face, that he just got beaten by an oldsmobile, the epitomy of senior citizens cars.

Those Kompressors aren't as fast as they should be. From what I remember (Now I feel obliged to check up on this) the C230 pushes about 200hp from a 2.4L V6. 0-60 times are around 7.6-7.8

MB has a tendency to weigh down their cars with the various luxo options. people buy them thinking they have a super fast car with high hp ratings, but they dont look at the curb weight. For the Kompressor to be the size it is, you wouldnt think it weighed so much (about 3400-3500 I believe)

I found the specs on the 2002 C230. Its has a 192hp 2.3L V6. 200 lb/ft torque. 0-60 time is 7.2 manual 7.5 automatic. Curb weight is 3305 manual, 3340 automatic.

I think the specs for the 1998-2001 were different. But if I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

Was it a C230 Kompressor or a SLK230 Kompressor? The body styles are different, thats all. performance is about the same.

If you want performance from a Mercedes, buy an AMG series.

I like BMW's better anyway. Mseries baby!

I only asked because I thought you said it was a Kompressor. I'm pretty sure there is no Kompressor for the C240.

There IS a C230 Kom and a SLK230 Kom.

I even checked the MB website, and there was no C240 Kom listed.

I just wanted to be sure I was posting correct specs, but I cant find the car you said you spanked!

Kompressor means its SC'd? I didnt know that. I kinda stopped paying attention to MB's engines a few years ago.

But the question I was asking is this: Is there a Kompressor/SC version of the C240?

I think we do. Just because their cars are more expensive than ours doesn't mean they can't rice it up too!
