97 katana 600

Hey everyone,
I went with my buddy to check out a bike he wants, and it was in good shape and only has like 6800 miles. Basically, I sat on the bike and squeezed in the clutch, it was very tight. The bike was not running so I am thinking it may be hydraulic. Anyone know if this is the case or not....Thanks.
Oh, and my other friend just bought an 04 600rr (very sweet bike), do you think my 03 R6 could take it-both completely factory, neiter one of us are really willing to top them out yet so I thought I would check with you maniacs.

you can always adjust the clutch to be more resilient. also start the ignition to see if it makes any difference.

as for your buddy getting the 6RR and you having R6, are these your first bikes?

check to see if there were any cable's at the clutch or a hydraulic reservior. cable clutches have three adjustment points (or at least my previous 2 did/have). first at the lever, second at the housing and third was internal. also it may just be needing a cable lube job. i hate hydraulics only coz i cant fix 'em. also can't say i ever seen a bike with hydraulic but they still could exist

as for 03 R6 v 04 cbr600rr. i'd put my money on the rr but it would come down to rider because they are still very close

ok thanks guys
and no we have both been driving for awhile, jesse has only been on a bike for about a year now, ive been driving for 14 years (im 22).
also, the katana seems to be known for being heavy, is there an easy way to lighten it/make it more responsive???

you started on dirtbikes? as for lightening katana... really not much you can do. they're meant to be good streetbikes, comfy, with good power above 8K. but they're no race-bred track bikes that they should be under 400 lbs. you can always add more power to balance the weight difference, but may still feel heavy relative to cbr600rr.

rr is light, compared to katana. but it's not anywhere near being one of the lightest 600s.
