Stalling problems on an 84

Hi everybody, I have a problem with an 84 Cavalier Convertible. It has just lately began stalling occasionally when it's put in reverse or when you turn the wheels sharply in either direction. The first possible reason I thought of at first would be a bad oxygen sensor (not positive this year had those) but the stalling problem during hard turning is kind of strange and I can't logically associate that with a bad sensor. Perhaps a belt is too tight? I don't get it. The belts look fine and haven't been adjusted. It's got power steering and runs normally otherwise. I'm used to working on my much simpler 64 'stang so my wife's newer Chevy is a little aggravating sometimes.

Any help or suggestions appreciated! Thanks
