d16 hatch...nitrous or turbo?

how much weight does a full turbo setup add in weight? I am thinking of what to do engine wise in a 4g coupe. I want to do a mini-me or full z6 or y8 swap and want decent nuts, but great handling too. I know I can go pretty fast na+nitrous, but if the balance isn't too much worse, I'd boost. Let's hear both sides, including b16 guys cause im guessing a turbo d is similar to its weight. Which would be more fun for course/hiway hauling?

I'm pretty sure you'll make up for the weight of a turbo kit with the power you would be getting, I would think. Otherwise if you didn't get enough power for the weight, I don't think people would turbo their car.

Cool. I want to hear from all the hardcore all motor and nitrous sohc people out there too. But I guess the extra turbo weight wont hurt my handling too much if I take more weight off the front end like c/f hood, wheels, relocate battery, no A.C., etc., right? I drag race a little, but love lateral G's way more!

no offense, but this is the worst idea in this thread. 4th and 5th gear on a turbo setup with a stock block is when the most load is put on the engine. It is when detonation is most likely and when the most pressure is being put on the block itself.

If you are not an amateur to tuning, which im assuming the general population is, then if and only if you have all detonation dialed out and in combination with a *very* large turbo, nitrous is only necessary to spool the turbo. if you need more power, turn the boost up. If your motor cant handle more boost, then it definately cant handle some boost coupled with nitrous.

forced induction is forced induction. 50hp with a turbo does no more damage to the engine than 50hp with nitrous or a supercharger. its all in the tune. the thing with nitrous is a lot of people spray a dry shot, which is just asking for detonation and a dead engine. with proper management, any forced induction is a great power adder and safe too.

They kill all the betting so some stick to the streets. I am planning a custom turbo setup that's barely streetable, like t3/04 or bigger for max power, not drivability like the original S2000
