Base Jumping

Ok for so long now i have wanted to base jump. So after i turn 18 me and bunches of friends are gonna start skydiving to build experience. So after that were gonna start road tripping and base jumping. I was wondering do these guys have any special equiptment? Something different from regular chutes and bags? And who makes good chutes?

Re: Base Jumping

even though I know nothing about Base Jumping, I'm gonna guess that the equipment is the same, you just have to pull the chord faster. just try and do it smart. make sure the cliff or high place you're throwing yourself over is high enough.

Re: Re: Re: Base Jumping

Skydiving is fun as hell. the 3 jumps as tandem go by so fast, and then the freedom....

Re: Base Jumping

alot of times in base jumping i've seen the people just hold their shoots bunched up in their hand, and when they're ready they throw it outwards.

Re: Base Jumping

I could see how that method could get you in trouble real fast. What if the chords accidentally get jumbled up and twisted while you're clutching them in your hand or when you throw them?

well, they dont actually hold the main chute in there hands, they hold what is refered to as a drag chute. its designed to catch the air and thats what pulls the main chute out of the pack.

it might be different in all places. I went to the place down in Osage City, Kansas about a hours drive ( or 35 minutes with me )
and they wanted you to tandem 3 times.

Re: Base Jumping

when u get good u gotta get one of those flying squirrel suits. where theres like webbing between your legs and your arms. then u can steer better where u go.
