Dress up kit.

sence i have my injen intake, fipk, dejon uicp, 1g bov, mbc, boost gauge, & a pillar coming. i've got the need to do more at the same time. so i bought a Spectre red hose kit with
4.5 feet Upper Radiator Hose Covering & 2 Red Pro Hex Fittings
12 feet Heater hose covering & 4 Red Pro Hex fittings
4 feet fuel line covering & 4 Red Pro Hex fittings
3 feet vacuum line covering & 4 shrink sleeves.
i was wondering if this will be enough to cover all my hoses. i want to get "everything" that has a black hose comming or going.

im also going to give it a shot with painting my Valve cover Red with that high temp spray paint from autozone. are their tourque setting for the valve covers on a 2g 4g63? or can i just bust them loose, and use a regular ratchet to slap it back on tight?

Re: Dress up kit.

Use 1200F paint. Loosen them with whatever... make sure you use a torque wrench when putting it back on otherwise you will crack it.

BTW how much did that kit cost.. off ebay?

Re: Dress up kit.

Tq. the valve cover bolts down to 32 in. lbs. NOT 32 ft. lbs.

I would be very careful doing this. I would use a torque wrench that reads inch lbs., because if you try to estimate 3 ft. lbs. on a torque wrench like mine that measures in units of 5, you can crack the valve cover like ashah said.

I was careful not to tighten them down too far, and I still ended up creating a hairline crack in the corner of the cover. Nothing a little JBweld won't fix though

Also make sure to follow the bolt tightening pattern found in the shop manual, or at very least tighten them evenly on all sides, not tightening down the left side bolts, then the right (duh...just thought I would remind you ).
