1999 LeSabre shudders

This is just a bit of info for you folks out there with the 4T65E transmission that has the shudders. My 1999 LeSabre had the shudders very bad and after a few times to the shop I was at my wits end. I was being told that the transmission would have to be torn down and inspected to see if there was any one or more components causing it to shudder. Finally, after taking it to a new dealership service dept.,it was discovered that there was metal shavings in the cherry juice which told them the Spraig gear and or the torque converter were going south. Luckily, I bought an extended warranty that is going to cover the expense of a brand new transmission and torque converter. It will be cheaper to replace the tranny rather than rebuild the old one.

So kids, have your mechanic drop the pan and look for shavings.
