Question 2005 Civic Si / 2006 CRX / 8th gen???

Ok i found out that there is gonna be a new totally ReDesign for the 2005/6 civic Si and Civic models. Does this mean 05+ 8th generation?. The pervious si model didnt do so well in Sells and Complaints, look liking a wagon. (Shouldn't stop production on wagons and call the Current Si, a civic ex wagon.) Anyways 05/06 gonna look more sporty, more HP, perhaps 2.2L.? <--- not for sure though. And what's up with the CRX any info if honda is gonna ReRELEASED it? OR is the hyped-up CRX gonna replace the SI? *RUMORS*

What's your source? No offence but sounds like to me unless you have proof to back it up. And the Del Sol replaced the crx, doesn't make since to me that they'd bring it back; unless it's a revamped version of the del sol.

Re: 2005 Civic Si / 2006 CRX / 8th gen???

Well I stand corrected: http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/n...x.cfm/id/37581
" News Civic is being redesigned for 2006. We have no specifics yet, but Honda's usual practice suggests modest dimensional increases and larger mainstream engines--around 2.0 liters here, we'd guess. There's talk of 4-dr hatchbacks being added for the first time in North America, and perhaps more 2-dr hatches beyond the sporty Si. Another possibility is a Civic-based tall-body sport wagon, tentatively named Latitude. Honda already sells one in various overseas markets as the Stream. The U.S. version would be based on a redesigned Stream, so it's not likely before 2007. Honda is still evidently mulling a smaller budget subcompact based on its Japan/Euro-market Fit/Jazz 4-dr hatchback, which is being redone for 2006-07. We've spotted current models being used as prototypes near Honda's California test facility. Honda recently said it's thinking about a separate brand aimed at the youth market a la Toyota's Scion. The redesigned Fit/Jazz would be a good kickoff for that, but Honda, as usual, won't confirm any of these prospects."

Re: 2005 Civic Si / 2006 CRX / 8th gen???

The idea of making the civic more sportier in the 8th generation not only would make it sell better but might be the coming of the sport civic again as the 5th gen civics were called sport civic.

About that crx.........Honda has talked on and off about making a come back but no one will confirm. I sincerely think that since the scion tc is kicking off the youth scion company with tremondous gains, honda needs something to attack this new car market and the CRX would be the ultimate choice to bring back. It has all the potentials to sell well as long as they design it right, unlike the current si hatchback which....well.....looks like a 4-wheel egg on steroids. If this news from 93civiclx is right, then honda is on a roll!

Honda usually does redesigns every five years or so, so an all-new Civic for '06 seems about right.
If a new division is created that caters to the younger buyers, it'd be nice if all the models were performance oriented, and didn't mostly consist of stale, boxy wagons/trucks, and lame little hatches.

Here's the next gen NSX, although the exterior may still be tweaked just a bit to avoid looking too much like a Ferrari Enzo.

Honda has also stated that the next NSX will most definitely break the gentlemenly agreement among Japanese manufacturers not to exceed 276 hp in production cars. This is a moot point anyway though, as cars in Japan have exceeded this limit many times before, getting away with it because the manufacturer states the official hp figure as 276. Not to mention, the 350Z pretty much put an unofficial end to the agreement by being rated at 287 hp from the factory.

Hopefully the new Si will be lighter than the ever so loveable egg.

i was on the road today, while paying a toll on the p.a. turnpike i noticed this civic in front of me. on the back it said 3.0 civic Si. i went on honda's site to see what they had to say about it and didn't find much, then i did a search and found my way here. so maybe this information will be helpful to some of you.
