First off, get a compression check done. If its been in storage for too long, you can have problems with seals drying out.

I'm told that you should put a teaspoon of automatic transmission fluid (ATF) in each spark plug opening. Start the car and watch it smoke. The ATF helps clean and condition the Apex seals (rings in piston engines). Also, my 85 has had problems with a clogged fuel filter. If the car's been sitting for some time, its likely there's water in the fuel tank. The filter is easy to change and is located underneath aft of the driver's seat.

Change the oil. I'd also take a can of ether to help get it started. The GS models have a manual choke and they will not start without it.

Good luck. The 1st Gens are a fun car.
