Unhappy No Odometer & Speedometer

Hi, my car was broken into-stole my raido & when they cut the wires they must have cut the one's that lead to the odometer & speedometer. The next day it worked for about 5 miles and stopped. Can anyone tell me what I need to look for? I have a gaping hole where the stereo was- and see all the wires cut. I have no insurance and want to repair this myself (IF i can). Help from those who know. Call me cheap but I would also like to put in my old pioneer. Am I dumb to think you can just match the color wires to eachother? Help a gurl out. Thanks

Re: No Odometer & Speedometer

when they cut the radio out, they caused a short which caused the fuse to blow, the speedometer is on the same fuse as the radio. All you have to do is get rid of the short (make sure none of the wires are touching each other) and then replace the fuse (the fuse box is on the right of the drivers side footwell, there's a diagram of which fuse is what on the inside of the cover)
